How to Style Accessories Ft. JORD Watch

Do you ever find it hard to accessorize bold prints and colors? I know this can be a struggle sometimes especially with all the fun, vibrant prints that are so trendy right now. When JORD contacted me about doing a collab I thought this was the perfect fit for this topic!

JORD’s watches are so versatile and unique. I love the one that I picked out, which you can see more details of here. The simplicity of this watch still makes a statement on it’s own while easily being able to incorporate into any outfit.

The bold striped pants I have on with the loud colored top seem like enough on it’s own yet I didn’t have any accessories added! I typically throw on my apple watch though it doesn’t always work the best with what I’m wearing. The Fieldcrest Maple watch makes a statement on it’s own without being too crazy. I also love the coloring of it against so many skin tones!

To complete the look I added a simple leather clutch, my fave Stella & Dot delicate initial necklace, neutral toned earrings that complemented the watch and of course a pair of my Quay sunnies.

JORD is also so kind to be hosting a $100 giveaway to put towards any watch you choose! To enter that giveaway simply go here. You can also check out their entire selection of wood watches plus see their engravable options here.

So the next time you’re worried about mixing and matching prints, colors and accessories don’t! If wearing loud colors and prints just remember a “statement” piece doesn’t have to be a crazy necklace or long tassel earrings it can be as easy as a unique watch or clutch!

Charcuterie Goodness

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the Holiday season. Do you get stressed during the holidays with all the entertaining, gifts, and cooking? It’s easy to get overwhelmed when the holiday traditions seem to become too much. The trick is to learn where to take “shortcuts”! One of those great shortcuts is Whole Foods

But really, what are the holidays without good food? I think almost every family has a holiday tradition that somehow involves food from cookie baking to stuffing making. Whole Foods has great selections of pre prepared food, wine, desserts and so much more. So tell me, has your main course ever taken too long to cook and your guests start getting hangry? Well a charcuterie board is the perfect answer! It has sustenance, it’s colorful and you can add pretty much whatever yumminess you want to it!

If you’ve never vistied Whole Foods cheese selection you are seriously missing out. I added some cranberry cheeses for a festive charcuterie board and also chose some goodies from the olive bar, which has more than just olives! To finish it off I added some salami and almonds.

But, of course, what is a good charcuterie board without some yummy sips? Cava it is! Whole Foods has so many great tips on their websites such as this article with their favorite wines for the holiday season and tips for pairing!

Being still somewhat newlyweds we are still creating our holiday traditions. However, at home date nights have always been one of our fave things to do! The hubs and I enjoyed this lovely goodness by the tree for a little holiday themed at home date night!

Hausfrau: Book Review

This is a sponsored post by Random House Publishing, but all opinions are 100% my own.

Hausfrau is a new novel that I got a sneak peek read before the book hits the shelves, which is March 17th by the way!

The hausfrau, or housewife, Anna is the protagonist of this book and we, the readers meet her right at the first page as a passenger of a train, or just life in general as we learn. Though as every book there is more than meets the eye, or the first page!

While reading this book you are getting a third person account of Anna’s life, all the goings on in it. It switches back and forth between the story line of how Anna’s life is to conversations with her psychiatrist which give the reader a much better insight into our protagonists life.

It’s interesting to read all about Anna’s comfortable lifestyle in Zurich, where she essentially knows no one, even after living there  for quite a few years. Through seeing her daily interactions and the conversations with the psychiatrist we learn, as usual, that things aren’t always as they seem. In fact, they usually never are. Anna’s emotional life starts spilling out onto the pages of this book as we see her in multiple affairs and learn she has many secrets to keep.

I found myself often feeling bad for Anna. The fact that she felt alone in a country that wasn’t her own and that she knew little of the language would be rough. I studied abroad in Spain for 6 weeks so I have a little taste of what life could be like living in a country that you aren’t from and their native language isn’t yours. But then her affairs would come up and I would stop feeling so bad for her and just feel pity for her as she was handling and dealing with her emotions in such an unhealthy way.

I enjoyed reading this quick read of a novel as it isn’t the type of book that I normally would pick up! For those of you interesting in reading this book I don’t want to give too much away so I will leave my plot line to that. To read more about this book and the author visit the link up above!

For all you fellow bookworms out there Random House is so gracious enough to give out a copy of this book to one of you lucky readers, follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter!
