I’m still swooning over our recent trip to Napa! My husband was out in San Fran for work so he gifted me a trip out there for my Christmas gift. It was by far one of the best gifts I’ve received. Do you love experience gifts as much as I do? While we only spent a short amount of time in Napa I think we got a great feel for the beauty that is Napa.

Our first stop was at Mumm Napa which makes one of my favorite, affordable, sparkling rosé. Mumm was so kind to let us visit their beautiful tasting room and try quite a few of their wines, some that aren’t available in the marketplace. Our faves were the Blanc de Noirs, their Cuvee and the Santana Brut!

After we worked up quite an appetite whilst wine tasting we decided it was time for lunch! We hit up Gott’s in St Helena for a quicky and yummy lunch. Because of a friend’s advice we ordered ahead online-which was such a great tip as we completely skipped the line! In my opinion this is a must visit, especially if you love a good burger and a delicious milkshake.

After we filled our bellies and soaked in a little of the wine it was time for stop #2. We got a behind the scenes look at Black Stallion Winery. Both the hubs and I loved the chance to see more of how the wine is made and a history of this specific winery as well. Fun fact, Black Stallion was named that as the winery site was once home to the Silverado Horseman’s Center. You can see part of the history they kept on the winery’s grounds above as the old riding arena is actually where they make the wines. We tried several fantastic wines, some you can get at your local Costco and others that you can only get direct from the winery. The Bucephalus was definitely one of our faves!

After we had our fill of wines we headed back through the rolling hills filled with vineyards to our hotel. The Napa Marriott was recently renovated and is beautiful and affordable if you’re planning a trip and need a good place to stay!

We ended the evening with dinner at Market in St. Helena. It was so hard to choose where to eat as there are so many highly talked about restaurants. But I honestly don’t think you can go wrong! We had a very healthy meal of fried chicken, mac n’ cheese and smores. 😂 It was just as good as it all sounds and had amazing service to boot! We were a little wine’d out (I know, gasp!) so the hubs had a beer and I had a great cocktail that I can’t remember the name of 🙈

All in all, it was a short time in Napa but I think we had a wonderful taste-or sip of the area! I definitely want to go back, as there is so much more to see and experience. Stay tuned to read about how we spent the rest of our weekend trip in California!
