Hickory Holiday Home Tour

Happy Monday and last week before Christmas! I wanted to start off the week by sharing my holiday home tour at our new home!  I can’t believe how fast the month of December has gone by. It’s been so fun to hae a new home to decorate for the holidays. However, not much of my decor has changed from last year at our old home.

When buying our new home having a prime place to put the Christmas tree was one of my top priorities! I love that it’s able to be in front of the front window and be seen from the street.

I love all the trees in our house of any size!

I set up my little Willow Tree like nativity set in our living room with my favorite Christmas devotional by Ann Voskamp.

I debated getting a different advent calendar from Target this year because they had so many cute ones! But I decided not to and stuck with the same one we’ve had for a couple years.

I love these wood cutout trees I got from a local boutique.

Since we have a different fireplace and mantle this year I picked up this faux antler from Target to hang our stockings from!

And of course I had to update the bar cart for the holiday season! Love these little lowball glass with gold trees I picked up at TJ Maxx after Christmas last year for a $1 each, if you are trying to get new christmas decor hit up your fave stores the day after for the best deals!

The last couple years I hung these snowflakes from our mantle, I decided to switch it up this year and hang them on the window in our dining room. I love the look of how they turned out.

I also got these paper stars from Target last year and chose to make our chandelier festive as well!

Of course I had to share a pic of our tree at night all lit up.

There you have it! Our home is ready for the holidays and I wish I could keep up my Christmas tree year round, our house always looks so sad come January.

Holiday Beauty and Baubles

Stressing about all those holiday parties you have this month? With makeup by Mineral Fusion from Whole Foods and some beautiful jewels by Stella & Dot I have you covered! Did you see my post earlier this week talking all about higher beauty standards? Now that we’ve taken care of our skin it’s time to get to the makeup part!

This holiday exclusive kit for Whole Foods by Mineral Fusion is perfect for the holidays. I’m loving the earthy tones paired with the burgundy/wine nail polish! Isn’t it so interesting that in the time of convenience (cough cough Amazon prime) that as a culture we’re going back to actually wanting products, food, and a lifestyle that’s good for us? Don’t get me wrong there are so many good and awesome things in 2016 but also a lot of stuff that’s bad for us. That’s where brands like Mineral Fusion come in!

This weekend I tried out the Mineral Fusion holiday kit for the first time. Of course I paired some of my new favorite Stella & Dot jewels! I loved how the eyeshadow felt and went on. However, my favorite part of this kit is actually the eyeliner. It’s the perfect shade of brown, it’s just dark enough to be noticeable but not overly so!

Have you tried out any beauty conscious products lately? What ones have you loved or are wanting to try next?

Better Beauty Kit: Trilogy

What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body. Did you know besides amazing food with great quality standards Whole Foods offers a great selection of beauty products that also meet high standards. All of Whole Foods beauty products meet the strictest standards for quality sourcing, environmental impact, results and safety.

Recently I was lucky enough to get to try out the Bare Faced Beauty holiday kit-a Whole Foods exclusive with Trilogy. I’ve tried out several beauty and wellness products from Whole Foods (like these) but haven’t found anything I’ve been really in love with. Let’s face it, there are SO many options for beauty out there its hard to find what you really love. I like to call myself a serial beauty shopper. There is no one specific product that I really feel an “allegiance” to as far as beauty goes. I change foundations, mascara, etc whenever I run out because there is constantly a new “it” product out every month!

One thing that has become important to me lately is how I treat my body. What usually comes to mind when we think this is what we eat and our exercise level. Well, I don’t know about you but I have several skin issues and have for a long time. I definitely believe this probably has a lot of to with what we eat, but wouldn’t it also have to do with what we put on our body? Especially being a woman we cover ourselves in different products daily-clothes washed in laundry detergent, makeup, lotions, and potions oh my!

However, it is really hard to find beauty products that don’t have things in them that I can’t pronounce! This is where Whole Foods comes in. I’m more an “in moderation” gal, so while I’m probably not going to go au naturel I sure can try! I’ve heard SO much about rosehip oil lately and was excited to get to try it out first hand.

I loved these Trilogy products from Whole Foods-they felt good going on, smelled good, and made my face feel good when I woke up the next morning! This beauty kit includes ultra hydrating face cream, vital moisturizer, make-up cleansing balm, hydrating mist toner, and rosehip antioxidant oil. After trying out these products from trilogy, I definitely want to try their cream cleanser that goes along with this line of beauty care.

I know some guys on my list who received some of these items for Thanksmas (we celebrated Christmas early with my family this year) and absolutely loved them! For the other items like the Samsung Gear VR headset I think that techie or gamer in your family would love it. I had the chance to try one out at the Verizon store at a blogger event and it’s so real it’s crazy! Also, I don’t know about the men you are buying for but I think most guys love “experience” gifts. This doesn’t just have to be sports tickets, it could be as simple as tickets to a movie and then dinner, or ice skating if you want it to be themed for the season. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box whether your budget is $10 or $1,000! There’s a great gift for every guy at every budget.

Gift Guide:

for the adventurer: GoPro HERO5 Black

for the trendsetter: Nike Roshe Run Premium Sneaker

for the jetsetter: Patagonia Black Hole Pack 25L

for the techie: Samsung Gear VR – Virtual Reality Headset

for the sports buff: Tickets to any game your guy would love!
