Stripes with a side of olive

Happy Wednesday lovelies! If you’ve been keeping up with fashion trends olive is now basically a neutral and stripes have been a neutral for a long time now so put the two together and you’re golden. Olive will be especially perfect for fall with all the beautiful fall colors.

These olive Loeffler Randall lace up block sandals made this stripe dress go from simple to fabulous in my opinion.

I also love how well these accessories go with this whole ensemble.

And how about that hair from Studio H again?? Heather’s simple waves are my faves, all the heart eye emojis possible.

I think olive has become one of my new favorite colors, when I came to the photoshoot I was worried about my nail polish color on my toes and how it would look with the shoes because it was so bright but it actually turned out looking kind of cool. Proves my point that olive really is a neutral and goes with anything!

Love this detail shot of the accessories, you can barely notice how the chain has an ombre affect.

What would you love to pair these olive shoes with?

Suwanee did an amazing job picking these locations in Wichita, for some reason I love the coloring on this building and how this outfit pops off it so nicely. On another note, where did my nice summer glow go??

The rest of the ladies looked fab as well!!!

And thats a wrap!

Hickory House Before

As promised from last week I wanted to share some of the before pictures of our new/old 1938 tudor style home with you to share our journey of our #hickoryhouse and our very own fixer upper! Today I’m just going to show the main level before pictures with you as that’s what we’ve been focusing on first before we move on to anywhere else.

I love the front of of our house with the blue accents! And you might have already seen the yellow mums that I’ve added on instagram here

We have a great big corner lot with a bunch of big old trees that I’m looking forward to seeing in each season.

This is what you see when you walk in from our front door, this will be our main floor living area where I see us spending the majority of our time.

Here is where you enter in from the living to the dining, you can also see the condition of the wood floors which are original and in pretty great condition. They are staying and are all throughout the main floor!! Score, and huge budget saver.

That door that is open on the right leads up to the future master bedroom-more on that later. Then you enter into the kitchen here and I am hoping to take down this wall to open the kitchen up to the dining as well.

I have quite a few plans for this kitchen, these before pictures make it look better than it is. The cabinets I believe to be the original and they kept the boxes but replaced the doors with less than amazing doors so those are all coming out and I’m going to break up this appliance cluster move them throughout the kitchen.

I do however like what they did back here with what used to be the eat in breakfast nook and will use this as our butler’s pantry and put the fridge back here also with other small appliances.

Here’s another view looking backing at that current appliance situation.

Here’s the future fridge wall.

This is one of the main floor bedrooms which is a great size.

Hallway with a decent sized bath

Main floor bed #2 which serves as the EverydayMrs office!

We have already made so much progress on the main floor you might have seen a few sneak peeks of the before and afters on instagram already I can’t wait to show you more. You may see a couple glimpses on my #fallhometour I will be sharing with you next week on the blog! I’ll be MIA the end of this week as I’ll be on the #farmfoodtour at the end of this week with Kansas Farm Bureau, be sure to follow along with me on instagram and twitter.

Edgy Braid

Earlier in the summer I did a fun photo shoot with one of my favorite local boutiques in Wichita, my hair stylist-who created this amazing braid and an amazing photographer and videographer. It was the perfect collaboration of brilliant people that created an outcome of beautiful photographs! Follow along below:

This was the perfect photoshoot for my style, loved the edgy braid with the white vest

and of course who doesn’t love a bright Kate Spade clutch?

The golden hour light turned out perfect for the shoot and made these clothes really pop!

How awesome is this braid Heather did? I have no idea how she got it to stand up like that! I’ve tried to recreate and have had no success, I think she should start to snapchat or IG stories teaching how to do braids. hint hint 🙂

Also, these frye boots were the perfect fall bootie. They go with just about anything and were super comfortable.

I love how this outfit really transitions effortlessly from summer into fall, ladies white is not just for summer. I love a good white in the fall and winter and this vest is just it!

This shot was my idea, and I have to say I love how it turned out. Highlights Heather’s braid and all the accessories from Pink Saloon perfectly!

And that’s a wrap, literally, the scarf is adorable with the vest. Love the menswear ish look but still felt totally feminine!

Emmy Faves

There’s no better way to end my sister’s wedding weekend like seeing all the amazing Emmy looks, though if she had walked that red carpet she definitely would have won best dressed of the evening. #allthehearteyeemojis #butseriously

Alright let’s get down to business with my faves. I was seriously on a high after NYFW and there were so many amazing gowns that I was loving but I will spare you and just share my absolute faves from the evening!!

Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson was a stunner in this green glimmer on the red carpet at the Emmy’s. I love a gorgeous green gown on a blonde don’t you?

68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

I’m almost as excited about Quantico coming back on this Sunday as I am about this sea of red on Priyanka!! Wow, what little girl doesn’t dream about twirling in this dress?? She definitely made a statement in this one for sure.

I feel like no one did a print this year on the red carpet! Kristen Bell you did it right!!! Love this beauty on her, so elegant and love the tousled easy going hair with it as well.

All I have to say is I don’t look as gorgeous as Kerry Washington does pregnant then I can’t do it. Wow!!! She looked amazing at the Emmy’s. Who knew a black jumpsuit could be this gorgeous on someone?

And there you have it EverydayMrs readers, I’m back at it with my Emmy red carpet review and have so much more to share with you about our move, how the remodel process has begun and some a fun blogging trip next week. Stay tuned for more! xo
