Easy Eating at Whole Foods

For this month’s Whole Foods post I had these great aspirations to put together an awesome fall themed post, but as the month went on and things came up I found myself at the end of the month super busy! Grateful for places like Whole Foods that have it all for us that want to make an amazing meal or those of us who are too busy but still want yummy, quality food without the fuss.

I love Whole Foods has perfectly curated displays that make you want to buy everything! I picked up some yummy treats, including their new chocolate peanut butter bar “buckeyes” because you never know when someone might stop by…or you just need a good dose of yumminess for yourself!

I’ve told you before about how much I love Whole Food’s cheese, and I won’t stop because its seriously delicious. They have so many different kinds, also a great treat to have on hand for when company stops over or for just a little more sophisticated football food! I also picked up these preserves that comes in all sorts of flavors to serve with the crisps you see. How good would homemade queso be with a variety of these cheeses?

If you’re looking for an easy meal or great food for entertaining but looking for little effort I would definitely take a tour through Whole Foods and see all the options they have to offer you!

Bathroom Update No. 3

Welcome back to EverydayMrs, I’ve been busy around my house lately what about you? I’m getting ready for a fall home tour, updating my fall fashion and I felt like I had to update the last bathroom in our home. I updated our master, updated the guest bathroom upstairs once, and then again for the One Room Challenge and I couldn’t stand the last oak cabinets any longer.

I got to work on the cabinets, though this time I didn’t use milk or chalk paint but instead just went for regular paint: Benjamin Moore Elegant Charcoal. Of course I also had to add some hardware. I had it in my head that I wanted lucite (acrylic) hardware so I looked around town and couldn’t find anything I loved. I hopped online and yikes talks about expensive so next I went to Etsy and found these beauties. For $5 each they definitely fit the bill and I love how they look against the gray.

No more oak cabinets in this household any longer! Long live gray and white cabs! Of course I had to update the rugs as well. The only other thing that would make it perfect is a new light fixture…and countertop…and sink. I think I’m getting ahead of myself…whoops!

But really, I love painted cabinets. If you’re thinking about doing them in your home I definitely say go for it! Overall a pretty simple project and definitely cost effective.

Next home project? New tile for our entryway! Stay tuned for more on that and my fall home tour coming later this week, the first day of fall is tomorrow if you weren’t counting down the days like this EverydayMrs has been.

Beautiful Home Tour Pt. 2

Hello, welcome to part two of the beautiful home tour of my lovely parent’s house. If you missed part one you can go here to see it, you definitely don’t want to miss it. Without further ado here is part two!

Let’s start with the before of their home. Here we are¬†going from upstairs down the stairs…

They had cherry wood trim and berber carpet in the basement along with brown walls and a couple red accent walls, very traditional looking!

Lots of cherry wood which made it seem very dark even though they have a walk out basement full of windows!

Here’s the bar area, same tile backsplash as the floor in the bar area and around the fireplace. The barter is corian while behind it is laminate, so strange to me some of the choices the builder made in such a nice home.

And now let’s go down the newly remodeled stairs…

Major difference already, love the trellis design in the carpet and the white walls contrasting with the black trim.

Hello beautiful tile!

I talked my mom into this coffee table from Z Gallerie and she chose not to get the glass top on it which I love the raw yet polished look it adds to the space. We’re still searching for the perfect piece to go on top, for now the little basket will do.

Scroll back up for a minute to the fireplace before…crazy right? The hearth and mantle are gone along with the all the dark wood! Love the tile they chose as well as the awesome fireplace!

Having the built ins painted a light grey really lightened up the space and makes it feel a lot more open and fresh.

Taking the mirror out of the backsplash and doing a thin glass tile all the way up looks so much better and not as dark and drab. Also props to my dad for picking out the amazing new granite countertops. They’re even better in person!

See that beautiful granite?? Seriously my dad did that all on his own!

And here are the two guest baths downstairs, they used the extra slabs from the kitchen countertops for these bathrooms and had the existing vanities painted as well as put in awesome light fixtures, above counter sinks, and new hardware. On a budget? Paint your existing countertops, trim, and change out the hardware for an easy update.

So still in love with my parent’s home? I know I am. Stay tuned for the third and final part of the home tour which includes the beautiful master!
