Summer Living Room

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while and it’s gotten away from me, but seeing as summer is coming to a close I needed to get it out! You’ve now seen my living room in all seasons but as its one of the spaces everyone sees as they come into my home I like to keep it fresh. I finally got a new coffee table after debating for a while over these styles.

I purchased this coffee table from Ikea after seeing it on Classy Clutter. I love the look and even love the price so much more! Once I got it home I put a quick coat of gold Rustoleum spray paint on it and called it good. This project was one of the easiest and cheapest but looks high quality in my opinion.

All these pillows I already had it my home I just played musical chairs with them, as well as the throw. The two outer and middle are from TJ Maxx and the two gold are Nate Berkus for Target. The black and white stripe throw is from Ikea that I’ve had for a couple years and love no matter where in my home it lands. Most of the accessories on the coffee table are from TJ Maxx and Homegoods…shocker I know! I also added airplants to my little terrarium. They. Are. Awesome. Have you heard of them? You should definitely try them out there are so many different ones and so fun to decorate with.

They are so cute…I think I should name them. Ideas??

This rug is new to this space if you didn’t notice. I have loved this rug for a long time and have the 2×3′ size of them for my kitchen but just didn’t have a space for a 5×8′ but when I found it on sale for $20 I decided I could find a space for it ūüôā It’s sat in my basement closet for a while because I wasn’t sure what to do with it and then it came to me….layer it on top of my other rug. And I am so happy with the results, I love this look!

So much natural light in this room it makes me beyond happy. I’m looking toward to fall but can we keep the sun into the evening hours as well? That would make me love fall even more.

And what’s summer without a little margarita action over on my bar cabinet??

Do you redecorate for the seasons? I love to switch it up according to the seasons even if it’s just moving things around from other spaces in my home. To see my living room decorated for other seasons check it out here, here and here.

As we are nearing the end of the summer I wanted to share a couple tips about how to start looking towards fall as far as your wardrobe is concerned while dressing for the heat as well. Working in fashion it can sometimes be hard while we start to transition into different seasons especially when our weather isn’t reflected what’s “in”.¬†

fashion files

-Add a jacket that you can adjust the sleeves to be shorter for the hotter months and can roll down during the colder ones

-One word. Booties. Open toed booties that is.

-Marsala. This color isn’t just for the home, add it into your wardrobe for that instant touch of fall.

-Top it off with a floppy hat. You can even take those hats you’ve been wearing pool side all summer long and make them a part of your everyday wardrobe.

-If hats aren’t your thing try a jewel toned (or dare I say marsala) statement necklace to your outfit and you are fall ready!

These are just a few ways I’ve found to extend my summer wardrobe for the transition into fall fashion. How do you transition your wardrobe?

Vaca with Verizon

This post was sponsored by Verizon, all opinions are 100% my own.

I recently traveled with my hubby and in laws to the sunshine state and Verizon was kind enough to send my some goodies to help make traveling a little easier and more fun!

They sent me an external battery, bluetooth selfie stick and the new LG4 smartphone. Loved the external battery for easy charging in the airport, on the plane and even on the beach. It’s so handy and not bulky that it takes up to much room.

My fave thing they sent was definitely the bluetooth capable selfie stick. It’s so simple holds onto your phone well which is one of the things I was worried about. I had a lot of fun using it and am definitely thinking I might¬†need¬†one now ūüôā

The new LG4 also takes great pics, has a huge screen (but not too big, I’m looking at you 6 plus) and is thin. It was a breeze to use!

Loved having all these techie gadget goodies to add to my travel bags. Have you tried out any new tech gadgets lately? Like maybe this new Rebecca Minkoff wristlet??

P.S. to read more about that hat you see go here!

A couple pics taken with the awesome selfie stick!
